Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Step 1

Take the vehicle card/ key.

Step 2

Place the key card near the handle located on the driver's side door pillar to lock/unlock the vehicle when you are outside.

Step 3

The car is now unlocked; you can open the doors.

Step on the brake pedal and hold

Push the start/ stop button

With your foot on the brake, press the D or R buttons to engage gear

Release your foot from the brake pedal slowly

Step 3

Press the accelerator pedal down slowly to engage driving the vehicle

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking space, step on the brake and press the "P" parking gear button

Exit the vehicle and make sure all doors are properly closed.

Lock the vehicle using the key/ card

Locate the charging door on the front grille, passenger side, of the vehicle and open the charging cap.

Step 3

To charge, connect the cable to the charging port from the charger and choose the relevant charging option on the charger. When charging is complete, simply disconnect the charging cable. If using the untethered cable included with your rental, please return it to the carry bag and into the boot of the vehicle.
